The Yoda Room

Just call me sneezy mcgee. (but really, please don't).  I've been kicking up dust (hence the sneezing) while sorting through books and other odds and ends trying to pack things up for storage or Colorado.  Deciding which books I want and have room for, vs which books are ok to store for now is a very difficult task! I mean you have the classics like Shakespeare and the Bronte sisters and others that are put into a classics box and labelled for storage. Then you have the recent "classics" the Harry Potters and the Georgia books (yes classic!) that are heavy and take up space and I wont likely read again soon even though I want to, that I want to take but probably dont have room for! So what does this mean! I have one box of storage, one box of "for Colorado" books, and one giant pile of maybe's! (basically half of my bookshelf on the floor).  the books have exploded!!!

I've also been going through old photos. I now have a box of albums as well!  i've found a lot of strange gems. Random quotes scribbled on the sides of notebook paper. Random notes from high school and college. I found a list of books to read from my friends in high school that include "The Poisonwood Bible" (read),  "Tender is the Night" (not read), Memoirs of a Geisha (read),  and Watership Down (read).  I have a couple pages of quotes that it looks like different people from school put in my notebook. I'll share a few with you!

"Happiness is Not a Fish that you Can Catch"

"Never trust a woman who wears her pants too tight. She might love you tomorrow, but she'll be gone tomorrow night" (written in boy handwriting, no idea)

"We're just two lost souls swimmin in a fish bowl year after year" - Phish (via JD)

"Don't make love by the garden gate, because love is blind but the neighbors ain't!"

"Someday you have to let your youth go, or you'll just look foolish" - David Bowie (via T)

We were either very philosophical in HS, or very bored. Maybe a mix of both?

I found a note between me and JD and a boy (not sure who again?) about our awful chemistry teacher. It included some quotes from him also, mostly his answers to any question: "oh I don't know", "you never know" and one of my favorites "and blaaaa bla bla bla bla on page whatever."  Literally, that was his answer "blah blah blah".  Also written on this page randomly is "there's a hole in my bucket (wait it's a paddle boat)."  What went on in high school?  Who had a paddle boat? Why did the paddle boat have a hole? Were we trying to escape school in a paddle boat and the freaking giant speedbumps put a hole in them? When they put those speedbumps in my sister and I went FLYING THROUGH THE AIR because the geniouses DID NOT PAINT THEM A DIFFERENT COLOR. All of a sudden, driving along normally and then flying through the air!!! Crazy school.

I also found this from Vienna and almost fell off my chair:

The Gustav in the left corner is talking about a little bear that we decided to take with us on a trip to Hungary.  Think the traveling gnome:

Can you see him there? it's kinda  a crap picture because it's a picture of a picture, but he's sitting right smack in the middle on the top of my ice-cream float! (yum) Now I want an ice-cream float.

Annnyway It will be interesting what else I find as I delve deeper into the contents of my room! Must go now and see if I can dig up any ice-cream from the freezer....
