"If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar, a hope-er, a prayer-er, a magic bean buyer"

So obviously I've decided to join the blogging world.  It could end up being hilariously wonderful, or a complete waste of your time... I'll let you be the judge!!  Seeing as this summer marks the beginning of a whole new life for me, with many of my close friends and family becoming hundreds (if not thousands) miles away,  it's a good as time as any to share my adventures with those of you far far away!

Today was a day of adventure preparation.  First, I helped my little sister Kacin pack up her boyfriend's car almost to the brim with "just the essentials", in preparation with their big move to Sunny California! (and by sunny cali we really mean weirdly cold San Francisco). I was concerned how they were going to fit both hers and Daniel's things in the tiny car (along with a bunny as well!!) but they happily reported success in jam packing the wee car full of important things.  I'm looking forward to spending the morning with her tomorrow before sending her off to California where she will be attending the San Francisco School of Circus Arts. (no she is not going to be a clown, no matter how I tease her, but an acrobat/flyer! think cirque du soleil).    This is my sister:

"I'll swing by my ankles, she'll cling to your knees as you hang by your nose from a high-up trapeze. but just one thing, please, as we float through the breeze - don't sneeze" - Shel Silverstein
After I helped pack the car, I was off to see if I can sell my own car! My camry has been good to me over the years, but it's time to say goodbye...  The gentleman interested in my car seemed to like it, but unfortunately was 30 minutes late and I had to spend this time wandering around WalMart... In Raeford. And a) i despise walmart and b) it's raeford.  I mean it's wonderful that things are so cheap, but why are the meanest, most idiotic, and unquestionably unatractive people in the world always there? WHY? and did I mention it was Raeford? At least when the guy got there he was nice, and not a serial killer (phew). Almost nice to a point where I was like... ok we are not new friends, are you going to buy my car or no? Thankfully he is still interested, but unfortunately we have a bit more "bargaining" to do (thank you Zoher for my bartering skills).

Then I spent the rest of my day running errands with Theresa all over Southern Pines and helping her pack her suitcase full to the brim with a year's supply of long underwear and sweaters and other warm things.  She leaves for Sweden tomorrow to begin her adventures as a glassblower!  I am so very excited for her, but also really surprisingly sad. We've gotten to spend lots of time together the past two weeks (very rare) and I will miss her!  But now I have a wonderful excuse to visit her in Sweden with Jenny, and discover wonderful things about their vikings and vampires.  Not to mention the deliciousness of european chocolate!!  And I am so grateful we live in a wonderfully technologically savvy era that allows me to talk to my favorite pals even when they are miles and states and countries away, even when the cell phone minutes forbid it.

And myself, I am off on my own adventure soon.  Tomorrow I leave for a weekend trip to Atlanta where I will be wrapping up some odds and ends and visiting with friends. I can't wait to see almost everyone again, but am sad to be leaving them for good this time till who knows when!  Big life changes are always so bittersweet.  I'm very excited for the next stage of my life, but I will miss everyone!  Thank goodness I'm moving to Colorado where everyone wants to visit!!

Beautiful Colorado Springs View

The big move takes place around September 10th. I will be driving out to St Louis to spend several days with the Menendez clan, and then off to Colorado Springs where I will begin my career as a Physical Therapist.  Dear real world, not sure if I'm ready for you yet, but bring it. I still can't believe I'll finally be living in COLORADO.  A dream come true!
