I have been cursed since a young age with the inability to sleep in. As a teenager I was frustrated that I couldn't call my friends until at least lunch time. I couldn't call Kate until at least 1 pm or I'd wake her AND her parents!! This unfortunate trend has carried through my entire life. Sleepovers as a kid and I was the first one awake. Having to wait to play music until my sister woke up at lunchtime. Late nights at college and having to sneak around trying not to wake up roommates. Early mornings at the beach, spent walking/running and sometimes even watching the sunrise. Now I have learned to accept and deal with this. I actually enjoy sunrises (although thank goodness I don't catch them on a daily basis), that feeling before the world is awake and everything is so quiet except for the birds. But it's not just that I get up early after a good night's sleep. It doesn't matter if I have been out till 3 AM, or if I'm in bed by 8. Like clockwork I can't sleep past 9 (with the few exceptions of strings of late nights) and most recently I haven't been able to sleep past 7:30 (even this morning I woke up before I heard the twins banging around getting ready for school). The unfortunate thing is that I am extremely unpleasant if I get less than 6 hours sleep. Right now I should be driving home to NC, but after wrapping things up at public storage decided instead to stop and get coffee, my drug of choice.
Coffee... what a wonderful thing!! Did you know that it is said to have been discovered in Ethiopia by goats? This goatherder named Kaldi was hanging with his goats, and noticed that after they ate certain berries, the goats started dancing! And a revolution began.

My favorite coffee would have to be either from Vienna or Guatemala. I was in Guatemala in January for a service PT project, and we visited a Finca. They had this saying: "May your coffee always be dark as night, strong as passion, sweet as love, and hot as hell"

So hoorah for coffee keeping me sane, happy, and alive on the road!! One last drive from ATL to NC. It's finally adios and adieu to Atlanta. Things I will miss the most: Flying Biscuit, Eclipse di Luna, the nightlife, and of course all my wonderful friends. Ok coffee has sufficiently kicked in. Time to drive!!
